Good Morning and Welcome to St. Mary’s Church!

Congratulations St. Mary’s!! On June 1st we finished paying a loan from the New York City Landmarks Commission for the renovation of the church roof. This is a great accomplishment for the congregation and a milestone in our life together: Well Done!!

The Episcopal Church Women will meet next Sunday, June 21, following the 10:00 am service. All women are invited. Please see Ms. Glenda White, President, for more information.

Music at St. Mary’s Returns! Next Sunday, June 21st at 6:30 pm. A concert of Schubert, Beethoven, Poulenc and Mozart. Don’t miss this great music and bring your friends and neighbors. There will two more concerts, this summer as well: July 12th at 6:30 pm, West Harlem Winds will present a program of wind classics; August 2nd at 6:30 pm, a program of Handel, Mozart and Dvorak. Don’t miss this critically acclaimed music series featuring young musicians from our community.

St. Mary’s Summer Camp: Get ready for an exciting Summer Camp this year for children ages 6–13  years old. The camp program begins on July 6. Recreational, educational and cultural activities are the focus of the program. Please see Ms. Pearl Harris or call the Church office for more information (212) 864-4013.

New Life in Harlem: We have started a new Church, Thanks be to God!!: This afternoon at 2:00 pm Ecclesia Ministries of New York will continue a new, outdoor church in Marcus Garvey Park, 2:00 pm every Sunday. St. Mary’s Church is taking responsibility for the first and third Sunday each month. Please call Father David Madsen, (646) 753-1771.

Property Committee Meeting June 19th at 5:30 pm. Also, on Saturday June 20th at 9:30 am we will do a walk through of St. Mary’s with our architect Mr. Larry Jones to look a projects to undertake for the continued integrity and beauty of St. Mary’s Church facilities.

Mariam, Mark and Marx  a monthly bible Study and current issues discussion group will meet on Thursday, June 25 at 7:00 pm. Call Jim White at (201) 956-5356 for information.

The Men’s Monthly Prayer group: Next meeting is scheduled for June 27, 8:00 am. All Men are encouraged to attend.

Gay Pride March, Sunday June 28th at 1:00 pm. Please let Rev. Kooperkamp know if you would like to represent St. Mary’s Church with the delegation from the Diocese of New York at the Annual Gay Pride March.

Preaching schedule: June 21st, Rev. Chloe A. Breyer, with special visitors from the James Parks Morton International Sisters Cities Initiative, interfaith representatives from Barcelona, Spain and Glasgow, Scotland; June 28th, The Rev. Chloe A. Breyer. Rev. Kooperkamp will be out of town June 23 – 29.
