Merry Christmas and Welcome to St. Mary’s Church!!

Pledge Envelopes for 2011 are available at the back of the church. Please take yours home with you. If they are not picked up within two weeks we will mail them, so help us to save the postage!! Thanks!!

2011 Calendars are on the back table: If you made a pledge for 2011, please take one and if you have not yet made a pledge, please do so or leave $1.00 if possible to defray the cost. Thank you!!

TODAY: Start off the New Year with a Financial Plan: Today at 12 noon there will be a financial services presentation at St. Mary’s Church. This is an opportunity to learn how to stay out of debt, or if it is too late for that, how to get out of debt. Money saving tips, budgeting and building a credit score will also be discussed.

Eccelsia: Marcus Garvey Park: Sundays at 2:00 pm. St. Mary’s is the lead congerga-tion on the first Sunday each month. We need volunteers on today to help us make the lunches for the service. Also: St. Mary’s Homeless Street Outreach: Saturdays, 12:00 noon preparation and 2:00 pm street outreach. Please let us know if you can help and please keep the Homeless Street Outreach in your prayers.

The Property Committee will meet this Tuesday, January 4th at 5:30 pm. All are invited.

Movies at St. Mary’s: St. Mary’s and Ecclesia Ministries will show movies at 6:00 pm on Fridays. Come for the fellowship, the popcorn and the FUN!! Also, we need volunteers to help. Please let Lisa Slocum know if you can help out. Thanks!! Please tell Lysander Puccio your favorite movie so we can show it.

The Episcopal Church Women’s Prayer Committee will meet next week, Jan. 9th following the 10:00 am service. All women are invited.

“Torturing the Mind: U.S. Involvement in Psychological Torture” January 11th 2011, 6:30 p.m. Reception with Program beginning at 7 p.m. at All Souls Unitarian Church on Lexington Avenue, between 79th and 80th streets. The event marks the 9th anniversary of the prison/torture camp at Guantanamo Bay. Stop Torture!! Close Guantanamo Now!!

Fair Wages for all New Yorkers! The next action in the Fair Wage Campaign will take place on January 13th at 6:30 pm at the Convent Ave. Baptist Church (145th St & Convent Ave.) This action will start out the Dr. Martin King commemoration as we seek justice for working people in our city. It is important that we (St. Mary’s and all other congregations) make a strong showing at the action. Tell your friends, neighbors and come join us!!

The Men’s Prayer Group will meet on Saturday, January 29th at 8:00 am. All men are invited to come pray with us.

The Anglican Covenant: We will meet again to discuss the proposed Anglican Covenant on Jan. 30th following the 10:00 am service. Miguel Escobar will lead the discussion. Copies will be available on-line or on the back table in the Church.
