Happy Easter and Welcome to St. Mary’s Church!

TODAY: Cropwalk – May 1st The annual Cropwalk will take place today at 2:00 pm at Riversdie Church. St. Mary’s members have generously supported this anti-hunger program in the past. Please consider making a donation again this year. Please sign up to help and see Lisa Slocum or Bonnie Phelps if you want to get involved. Thank you, St. Mary’s!

TODAY: Spring Finale Concert: May 1st 3:00 pm Music at St. Mary’s and the Harlem Chamber Players conclude this season with a spectacular performance featuring music by Ravel and Faure. Mark your calendars and tell your friends!

The Vestry meets today at 12:00 noon, all are invited!!

Next Sunday: May 8th Special Mothers’ Day speaker on Domestic Violence, Ms, Sally McNichol, will lead a workshop following the 10:00 am service. All are invited to this program sponsored by the Episcopal Church Women. The Rev. Chloe A. Breyer, Executive Director of the Interfaith Center of New York will be our preacher.

May 14: Return of the “Ginormous Flea Market” Mark your calendars!!  10:00 am –5:00 pm, rain or shine! Rummage items, craft items, books, health screenings, baked goods!

Come on out for a great day. We  LOVE volunteers. To help, use the sign up sheets on the back table. We need volunteers to work at least one four and a half hour shift. Thanks so much for your support. 

The Property Committee will meet Thursday, May 7th at 5:30 pm. Please see Ms. Liz Mellen for more information. Come to learn about exciting developments for our Church!

Speak out for Living Wages: Rally at City Hall, Broadway and Murray Streets, May 12th at 11:00 am to support the “Fair Wages for New Yorkers Act” at the City Council Hearing. “Now is the time” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 1968

Eccelsia: Marcus Garvey Park: Sundays at 2:00 pm. St. Mary’s is the lead congregation on the first Sunday each month.  We need volunteers today to help us make the lunches for the service.  Also: St. Mary’s Homeless Street Outreach: Saturdays, 12:00 noon preparation and 2:00 pm Street Outreach. Please let us know if you can help and keep the Homeless Street Outreach in your prayers.

Movies at St. Mary’s: 6:00 pm on Fridays. Come for the fellowship, the popcorn and the FUN!!  Also, we need volunteers to help. Thanks!!  May 6: “The Visitor” (brilliant comedy/ drama on immigration & opening to new experiences; PG-13); May 13: Places in the Heart” (Sally Field: we like her, we really really like her! PG); May 20: “Red” (hilarious 2010 action-comedy with Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman & Helen Mirren; PG-13).
